Discover More About This Book
Have you ever found yourself standing in front of an empty cookie package, wondering how you got there? Or perhaps you've sworn off certain foods, only to find yourself consuming them in secret, filled with shame and guilt? If so, you're not alone. I've been there too, and I understand the pain, confusion, and frustration that comes with binge eating.
But what if I told you that ending binge eating has very little to do with food?
This might sound surprising, even counterintuitive. After all, isn't food the very thing we're struggling with? However, after years of personal struggle and working with thousands of clients, I've come to a profound realization: binge eating is a symptom, not the root problem.
In this book, we're going to challenge everything you thought you knew about binge eating. We'll explore why willpower isn't the answer, why restricting certain foods often backfires, and why understanding your brain and body is the key to lasting change.
Meet The Mind Behind The Book
Hi, I'm Jane Pilger, and like you, I've been on a long, challenging journey with food. For over 25 years, I struggled with binge eating. It all started during my first semester of college, and from there, it became a constant battle. I tried everything - two rounds of intensive outpatient therapy at an eating disorders treatment center, countless therapists, books, podcasts, and programs. You name it, I probably tried it.
That's why I wrote this book. After finally finding my way to peace with food, I've spent the last decade as a Master Certified Coach, Deep Dive Coach, and Trauma Informed Coach, helping clients overcome binge eating. I've discovered that the key isn't in focusing on the food itself, but in understanding what's happening in our bodies and minds.
This book is the resource I wish I had all those years ago. It's not about willpower or finding the perfect diet. It's about understanding why we binge and how to stop, about cultivating a peaceful relationship with food that lasts.
Whether you've been struggling for years like I did, or you're just starting to realize that your relationship with food isn't serving you, this book is for you. It's possible to find peace with food, no matter how long you've been struggling. I'm living proof of that, and I want to help you get there too.
When I'm not coaching or writing, you'll find me training for triathlons with my husband. We love traveling the world for new race experiences - a far cry from the days when food controlled my life.
I'm so glad you're here. Remember, you're not alone in this. You're not broken. And yes, it is possible to cultivate peace with food.
